Schools Federation Announces Closure on May 25 for Martyrs Day

Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) made an announcement on Tuesday regarding the closure of all schools on May 25, which is observed as Pakistan Martyrs Day. The President of APPSF, Kashif Mirza, clarified that while board exams would proceed as scheduled, regular classes would resume on May 26 according to the planned timetable. Mirza further stated that summer vacations nationwide would begin on June 15 and continue until August 14, with schools reopening on August 15.

In the province of Sindh, Mirza also mentioned that summer vacations would commence from June 1 and conclude on July 31. This regional variation in vacation dates aims to accommodate the specific requirements of the province. Additionally, the federal government expressed its full participation in Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan, with plans for rallies and possible consideration of a public holiday, as per sources from Geo News. It was noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would lead one of the rallies, reflecting the significance attached to honoring the martyrs of Pakistan.

The decision to observe May 25 as "Pakistan Martyrs' Day" was announced by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir a day earlier. This day holds great significance in commemorating and paying tribute to the sacrifices made by individuals who laid down their lives for the nation. By dedicating a specific day to honor these martyrs, the country acknowledges their contributions and demonstrates gratitude for their bravery and selflessness.
