Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Invites Turkish Investors to Boost Investment in Pakistan

 ANKARA: Amidst the backdrop of Pakistan's economic challenges, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a significant two-day official visit to Ankara, coinciding with the inauguration ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Demonstrating his commitment to revitalizing the country's economy, the prime minister seized the opportunity to engage with a delegation from the esteemed Anadolu Group, aiming to attract Turkish investors and businessmen to expand their ventures in diverse sectors within Pakistan.

The meeting, attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi, and Pakistan's Ambassador in Turkey Dr Yousuf Junaid, was graced by the presence of notable figures from the Anadolu Group. Leading the delegation was Karim Yahi, CEO of Coca Cola CCI, accompanied by Atilla Yerlikaya, Chief Strategy Officer, and Taylan Coban, Head of Public Policy.


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif eloquently presented the investment potential Pakistan has to offer, stressing the importance of foreign investment in bolstering the country's economic growth and addressing challenges such as mounting debt and dwindling foreign exchange reserves. He extended a warm invitation to the Anadolu Group to explore lucrative investment opportunities and contribute to job creation for the Pakistani population.

Prior to the meeting, the prime minister was welcomed at Ankara airport by senior officers from the Turkish foreign ministry and Pakistan's ambassador, Dr Yousuf Junaid. The visit was a response to Turkish President Erdogan's invitation, following his triumph in the second round of elections held on May 28.

Taking to social media, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his sincere intentions to convey the utmost warmth and well wishes to President Erdogan on behalf of the Pakistani government and its people, recognizing the significance of his re-election. The visit to Turkey, encompassing diplomatic meetings and interactions with Turkish business leaders, aimed to fortify bilateral ties and foster mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey.
